Fight Colorectal Cancer’s largest event and fundraiser of the year, Climb for a Cure 2022, was a success! Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7, more than 405 #RelentlesscClimbers, at 11 Climb locations, together with 53 Create Your Own Climbs, raised more than $160,000 to support research grants and efforts in the fight against colorectal cancer.

Why We Climb
Every year, relentless champions join together to Climb for a Cure in honor or memory of loved ones who have battled colorectal cancer. The Climb for a Cure allows you to reach new heights together while raising vital funds and awareness toward finding a cure.
For many, colorectal cancer is the biggest mountain they will ever face. Our community of relentless climbers each year comes together to make an impact. We Climb for a Cure to explore new terrain for life-changing research.
Chris Ganser Scholarship Recipients
Now in its seventh year, Climb for a Cure started in 2016 when Chad Schrack, Brian Threlkeld, and Chris Ganser, three visionaries and longtime advocates, came together with 19 others to ascend Longs Peak. They saw the literal climb as a way to inspire those facing the figurative mountain of cancer.
This year, we welcomed three Chris Ganser Climb for a Cure Scholarship winners: Dana Lee, stage IV colon cancer survivor; Ray Wilson, stage III colon cancer survivor; and Todd Broadus, caregiver to his wife Sarah, stage IV colon cancer survivor. The scholarship honors the late Chris Ganser, a colorectal cancer fighter and co-founder of the Climb.
Research Grant for Early-age Onset Colorectal Cancer
By 2030, colorectal cancer is projected to become the leading cause of death for people 20-49 years old. Let’s keep moving and climb to new heights! Let’s keep fighting, keep advocating, and keep climbing relentlessly!
Fight CRC is thrilled to fund a $15,000 research grant for early-age-onset colorectal cancer research this year in partnership with the Collaborative Group of the Americas on Inherited Gastrointestinal Cancers (CGA-IGC). Research drives potential breakthrough projects that lead to increased screening, better outcomes from treatment, and individualized treatment options for colorectal cancer.
